FAQ
These are some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have a question you don't see answered here, please reach out!

Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are nonrefundable, as I reserve your event date and turn down other parties to hold your spot. However, deposits are transferable to a new date as long as you notify me at least four days before the event.
If you need to reschedule within four days of your event, your deposit can still be applied to a new date, but a $50 rescheduling fee will apply to help offset the last-minute loss of business.
⸻
What if I need to cancel due to illness or bad weather?
While I completely understand that things happen — like sudden illness or unexpected weather — the deposit remains nonrefundable. I kindly ask that party hosts have a backup plan for rain or extreme heat, as those are outside of my control.
You may reschedule with at least four days’ notice at no additional charge.
If rescheduling within four days of the event, a $50 rescheduling fee will apply.
⸻
What if I need to cancel my party altogether?
If you choose to cancel your party entirely, your deposit is still nonrefundable. However, if you cancel at least four days before the event, I will keep a record that you paid a deposit and can roll it over to a future date should you choose to rebook later on.

Are tips expected?
Gratuity is never expected, but always appreciated for a job well done. As the performer and owner, I deeply value your kind words and support — especially if I’ve gone above and beyond or extended my time at your event. If you feel moved to tip, it truly means the world.
⸻
Do you need anything from us on the day of the party?
Just a few simple things to help the magic run smoothly:
• For story time and singing, please provide an adult-sized chair and a shaded area for children to sit (on grass or picnic blankets). Shade is required for safety, as wigs and costumes can get very hot.
• For face painting or glitter tattoos, I’ll need a standard-height table and two adult-sized chairs. Please avoid children’s chairs — they’re too small and not functional when I’m in a costume or ballgown.
⸻
How do I pay the remaining balance?
A $100 deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due at the end of your party.
You are welcome to prepay if you’d like to simplify the day. Otherwise, at the end of the event:
• Cash is great (please place it in an envelope if possible to keep the magic alive)
• Zelle or Venmo are also accepted
Please walk out with me to handle payment out of sight from the children, so the experience remains magical.
⸻
Can I have pets at the party?
Yes! I’m a huge animal lover and welcome your fur babies at events — they bring me so much joy. That said, because my costumes are expensive and often need to go to another event right after yours, I ask that you keep a close eye on pets to avoid any accidents near me that could prevent me from performing.
⸻
Do adults need to be present?
Yes, absolutely. I am not a babysitter, and for everyone’s safety and enjoyment, adult supervision is required at all times. I should never be left alone with children. If an unsupervised child becomes disruptive, it can interrupt the party flow and negatively impact the experience for others.
⸻
Are we allowed to take photos?
Of course! Please take as many photos as you’d like — you never need to ask.
If you share them on social media, I would be so grateful if you tag @kidspartieswithkaitlin on Instagram or Facebook. It truly helps my small business grow and bring more magic to more families.
⸻
What if I’ve booked a different performer from your team?
Everything works the same, even if you’re working with one of my trusted, extremely talented performers instead of me.
Final payment can be made directly to them via cash, Zelle, or Venmo, and they’ll provide their personal payment info.
If you’d prefer to prepay me, I’m also happy to ensure they receive full payment.

Will you call upon arrival?
No, I enter exactly at our scheduled time but I do not call or text before entering. You will hear my royal entrance music before you see me most likely, but I suggest setting a timer on your phone for a few minutes before I am scheduled so the birthday child can be ready and you have your phone out and ready to capture the memories. I aim to always enter exactly on time, but we all know how LA traffic can be, so please allow a 5 minute buffer window. I will always update you if I am running behind.
